Common chiffchaff – Phylloscopus collybita – or simply Chiffchaff, is a small migratory Eurasian warbler of Type – insectivore, Family Phylloscopidae and Order Passeriformes. It has a wide summer breeding range across N and Temperate Eurasia, in the winter it migrates to northern Africa, Arabia, SW Asia and N India. In SW Europe it becomes resident. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to Turkey, S Caucasus and N Iran. In winter it is found in S Turkey, Iran, the Levant, Arabia and unusually it is found across all the N African states including many parts of the Sahara. In the N Sahel states there are a few small areas where it is resident.
