As we saw on the Migration page, The Global African – Eurasian Flyway is composed of four other Continental Flyways, and this one is the third in sequence from West to East, however there appears to be some ambiguity about the nature of and what to call this flyway, it is variously called the all encompassing Asian – East African Flyway , or some call it the West Asia – East Africa Flyway, whilst others call it the East Asia – East Africa Flyway. There is also a significant difference in the area covered between the East and West flyways, the East Asia Flyway extends eastwards across northern Siberia to include Alaska and beyond within its scope, whilst the West Asia Flyway is limited up to Central Siberia, see the links above. This would appear to be an obvious subject where some coordination and clarification would be very helpful to all concerned.
