The Pallid swift – Apus pallidus is a medium sized species of the Type – aerial bird family Apodidae. Its range is around the Mediterranean Basin, N Africa and the Middle East, and in winter it migrates to Africa in a band across a region S of the Sahel from W Africa to Ethiopia. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder in Coastal Mauritania, the N Maghreb states to NW Libya, Cyprus, Palestine, the coastal lands around the Arabian Peninsular and the Arabian Gulf. There are resident populations in Egypt, Chad and Niger.
