The Parasitic jaeger – Stercorarius parasiticus is a migratory large species of Type – seabird (but a small skua) of the family Stercorariidae and the Order Charadriiformes. It is a summer breeder to the whole Holarctic Region and in winter is a long distance migrator to the offshore seas of S America, S Africa and Australasia. In the AWB Region it is found on Passage offshore of the Maghreb states and the Atlantic coasts of NW Africa. In the eastern area of the AWB Region it is found on Passage in W Black Sea and around the W and SW coasts of Turkey and then directly to Sinai and onto the Red Sea from where it is also found on Passage in all the seas surrounding the Arabian Peninsular.
