Three-banded plover – Charadrius tricollaris – is a small resident African shorebird of Type – wader, Family Charadriidae and Order Charadriiformes. It is resident in s s Africa and Madagascar, where it is found on the exposed shores of inland wetlands. In the AWB Region it is resident in E Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, and Somaliland, a small population winters in Niger and Chad, and it is recorded as Accidental in Comoros.
